Erte: fakes all over the place.

Since I am working in the USA I never saw as much Erte, Chagall, Picasso -name them- on the internet, in the galleries, in antique stores, even in Costco!
Here are a couple articles written by independent from the art business folks.
 
Written by Allan Bamberger, an article about the fake Erte prints, and others. He insist on the illegal side of estate sales. It gives a very good idea what kind of practices auctioneers today use to attract future millionaires in fake paintings.

The reality of the value of Erte lithographs sold in auction ( mainly secundary auction houses ( mostly in the USA )) and sold in Galleries. In galleries on the net they ask you easely $ 3,000.00 for a lithograph, up to $15,000.00- $20,000.00!. Here under you will find the latest Erte's sold in auction, except for 1 sale at Christie's all other sales where in local auction houses.

I had a dinner in 2003, in Beaver Creek, with the man who printed 2 million lithographs after Erte and sold them as originals. 2,000,000 x $500.00- $ 1,000.00?= 1 billion-2 billion $. He bought supermarkets!
My advise stay away from Erte's lithographs.
